AU CAFÉ (At the Café) – Triptych: 1 x 105 x 105 cm and 2 x 50 x 50 cm
It’s summer. The air is warm.
Two bodies in presence, two glasses on the table, two gazes meeting in a gentle orbit.
Beneath the table, a hand grazes the forbidden; above it, a smile welcomes the unspoken.
Love says nothing more — yet it pulses in every chair’s angle, every cast shadow, every orange hue.
The café terrace becomes a stage for intimacy:
the setting is still, the bodies play low,
and the handwritten poem sketches what the painting only hints at.

Artistic approach
In AU CAFÉ, I seek to make a moment of encounter visible — not in its climax, but in its suspended intensity.
The triptych offers three viewpoints — aerial, frontal, oblique — to compose a narrative scene both ordinary and deeply sensuous.
The erotic poem by Camille Rouschmeyer, hand-inscribed on the canvas, becomes the heartbeat of the piece.
It transforms the space into emotion, the image into language.
The painting becomes an extension of the poem’s delicate sensuality, where one perceives the unseen: a sliding hand, a held breath, desire cradled in a sip of lemonade.
